LOCO Panels – Onboard (Auxiliary/Control)

Auxiliary Supply Panels manages the control and protection of components such as compressors, blowers, lights, fans, auxiliary converters, traction converters and other related accessories within the locomotive. These panels are equipped with fully wired contactors, circuit breakers and other necessary components to regulate the input to auxiliary devices like the machine room blower, compressor, crew fan and cab heater etc.

Control Panels are responsible for the control and protection of critical systems, including the pantograph, vacuum circuit breaker (VCB), auxiliary converter, traction converter, central electronics, fire detection unit and other related accessories within the locomotive.

The Filter Cubicle is designed to reduce harmonics in the catenary current. The line harmonic filter is connected to the primary winding (self-inductance) of the main transformer. This filter effectively reduces or suppresses high-frequency harmonics, ensuring efficient energy transmission and preventing disturbances in signalling systems. The Filter Cubicle is equipped with components such as surge arresters, current sensors, contactors and capacitors.

The Interface Cubicle serves as the communication link between the Driver Control Desk and the Control Cubicles. It transmits the loco pilot’s commands to the Control Cubicles and displays any fault or error signals received from the Control Electronics to the loco pilot, ensuring seamless operation and immediate response to any issues.

Passenger Coach Control Panels

Switchboard Cabinets are installed in passenger coaches to control and protect various passenger amenities, including coach lighting, air conditioning, water pump systems, sanitary system controls, public address systems, charging sockets and pantry equipment. The configuration of a Switchboard Cabinet is tailored to the specific type of coach, such as air-conditioned or non-air-conditioned Coaches, Chair Cars, Sleeper Cars, Pantry Cars and Power Cars, ensuring optimal functionality and passenger comfort.

METRO Application Control Panels

Onboard

Different types of electrical panels, such as Relay Panels, EDB Panels and MCB Panels, are used in metro coaches. The functionality of these panels varies depending on their application, whether in a Driver Car, Motor Car or Trailer Car, to meet the specific operational requirements of each type of coach.

Underslung

In metro trains, electrical control and power lines need to be transferred from one end of the train to the other. To facilitate this transfer, various types of junction boxes, such as LTJB, HTEB, LTEB, TMJB, SSJB and BCB, are used. Each junction box type serves a specific purpose in ensuring the seamless distribution of electrical control and power throughout the metro train.
